HELEN O. SMITH

CLEAR LAKE - Helen O. Smith, 72, of 1013 S. Eighth St., died Thursday (Aug. 31, 1995) at the Oakwood Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Open Bible Church, with the Rev. Will Hunsacker officiating. Interment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will begin 3 p.m. Monday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St. The family suggests memorials to the Helen O. Smith memorial fund.

Helen was born June 1, 1923 in Clinton, Minn., the daughter of Howard Goldsmith and Christine Goldsmith (nee) Berg. She attended school in Clinton, Minn. Helen and her family moved to Clear Lake in 1956. Helen married Ronald B. Smith on April 22, 1961, in Clear Lake.

Helen attended the Open Bible Church, Clear Lake.

Helen is survived by three children, Judith Waters of West Des Moines; Jacquline Dybdahl and her husband, Gary, of Clinton, Minn.; and Larry Otten and his wife, Grace, of Cresco; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Goldsmith of Ortonville, Minn., and Vernon Goldsmith and his wife, Gertie, of Big Stone City, S.D.; two sisters, Erma Alberts of Clinton, Minn., and Alice Goldsmith of Ortonville, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald Smith, in 1994; and two brothers.
