Vivian E. Walls, 93, formerly of Clear Lake, died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at the
I.O.O.F. Home, Mason City, Iowa. A funeral service was held Monday, June 10, at
Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Fred Lewis of the
Clear Lake United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment followed at the
Clear Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Vivian E. Walls Memorial
Fund.

Vivian was born Aug. 19, 1908, the daughter of Frank Elisha Daker and Nina
Abigal (Parker) Daker in Clear Lake. Vivian attended Lake #1 Rural School and
graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1926. After receiving her normal
teaching certificate she taught at Lake #1 for 2 1/2 years. Vivian married
Russell Walls, Dec. 24, 1927 in Mason City. They lived on the family farm until
moving to Clear Lake in 1968.

Vivian was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rural Lakettes, Sorosis
Club, and a Church Circle. She enjoyed reading, handwork, knitting, crafts, and
she loved to cook.

Vivian is survived by three sisters-in-law, Lois and her husband, Russell
Fulghum, of Clear Lake, Marjorie Walls of Clear Lake, and Pauline Walls of
Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell, April 4, 1986;
and two sons, Robert and Duane Walls.
