Kathryn Lenore Kuchenreuther, 85, of Titonka, Iowa died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004
at the Titonka Care Center.

Memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 16, at the United Methodist Church,
Clear Lake, with the Rev. Jan Burnett officiating. Inurnment will be at a
later date in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, or donor's
choice.

Kathryn Lenore Kuchenreuther was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Titonka, the daughter of
William and Lenore (Mitchell) Schram.

Kathryn attended Titonka School System, graduating in 1936. She attended Iowa
State Teachers College. She taught in a rural school for a short time. She
was united in marriage to Kenneth Swan on Nov. 5, 1939 at the Methodist Church
in Titonka. To this union two children were born, Virginia and Douglas. They
operated Swan Funeral Home in Titonka for many years. They moved to Clear Lake
where they operated Swan Motel. Kenneth Swan died in 1984.

Kathryn was united in marriage to Kenneth Kuchenreuther on Dec. 3, 1987 in Clear
Lake. They lived in Clear Lake until 2000. When Kathryn's and Kenneth's
health began to fail, she moved to Titonka Care Center and he moved to Portage,
Mich. to be closer to family.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, cooking and baking. Staying in close
contact with her family and being with them also brought her great joy.
She was a life long member of Titonka and Clear Lake United Methodist Churches.
She was an active church member.

She is survived by husband, Kenneth Kuchenreuther, of Portage, Mich.; son,
Douglas and his wife, Kay Swan, of Sheridan, Wyo.; stepchildren, Barry and
Kenneth Jr. Kuchenreuther, and Chalice Neubauer, all of Portage, and Gayle
Hjortaas, of Florida; sister, Harriet Schutter and her husband, Herman, of
Mankato, Minn.; brother, Herbert Schram and his wife, Doris, of Geneseo, Ill.;
sister, Lois Holcomb and her husband, Reuben, of Swea City, Iowa;
sister-in-law, Helen Schram, of Peroia, Az.; son-in-law, Dwight Seaberg, of
Wesley, Iowa; grandchildren, Lisa Amesbury and her husband, Dan, Mark Seaberg,
Tim Seaberg, Wendy Swan and her husband, Mitch Kaplan, and Mitchell Swan, along
with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Swan; daughter,
Virginia Seaberg, and brother, Wilbur Schram.
