Florine Fredriksen, 70, of Clear Lake, died Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, at the
Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.

A funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Oct. 7 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Clear
Lake, with the Mosignor Joseph J. Slepicka officiating. Burial was in Clear Lake
Cemetery.

Florine Fredriksen was born Dec. 3, 1926 in Mason City, the daughter of Roy and
Nellie (Woodyard) Luther. She married Laurence Fredriksen on Nov. 15, 1949, at
St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Florine grew up in Clear Lake and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1944.
She attended Mason City Junior College and graduated from Mercy Nursing Program
in Mason City. She then worked as a nurse at Mercy Hospital and also at
Opportunity Village for many years.

Florine enjoyed traveling on cruises, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and
reading. She was an active volunteer in the community. She was a member of St.
Patrick's Catholic Church, the VFW Auxiliary, the Iowa Blacksmiths and Welders
Association Auxiliary, and the North Iowa Wine Club.

She is survived by her husband, Laurence Fredriksen, Clear Lake; four children,
Jon Fredriksen and his wife, Kathleen Golding, Washington, D.C., Mary Lauck and
her husband, Allan, Algona, Iowa, Paul Fredriksen and his wife, Ranae, Clear
Lake, and Ann Kaduce and her husband, Tim, St. Paul, Minn.; five grandchildren,
Christopher and Allana Lauck, both of Algona, Nick and Rebecca Fredriksen, both
of Clear Lake, and Seth Kaduce, St. Paul, Minn.; two nephews, Mike Blair,
Greenville, S.C., and Allan Frederickson, Boyce, Va.; and one niece, Judy
McNames, Fort Jones, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Joseph and Mark; and one
