Marcella "Mac" Jackson, 82, of Clear Lake, residing at the Rockwell
Nursing Home, died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at the North Iowa Mercy Health
Center East, Mason City.

A funeral mass was held Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at the St. Patrick's Catholic
Church in Clear Lake with Msgr. Joseph J. Slepicka officiating. Burial was in
the Clear Lake Cemetery.

(Julia) Marcella "Mac" Jackson, was born on April 1, 1916, in Doughtery, the
daughter of Daniel and Rose (McMenimen) McLaughlin. She attended and received
her education in the Doughtery School System, graduating from Doughtery High
School. She also attended and graduated in 1937, from St. Joseph Mercy
Hospital School of Nursing in Mason City. After completing her schooling she
worked as a nurse at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in MaSon City for a period of
time. She was united in marriageto Walter "Walt" E. Jackson on July 26, 1938,
at the Holy Family Rectory in Mason City. After her marriage and throughout
her life she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She enjoyed sewing, needlework, baking, card playing, fishing with her husband
and friends, and summering for 12 years along the Mississippi River with her
husband.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clear Lake, and was a
past member of the St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital Alumni Nursing Association.

She is survived by her husband, Walter (Walt) E. Jackson of Clear Lake, and is
now residing at the Rockwell Nursing Home; three children, Jim Jackson and his
wife, Mari M. of Rockwell, Tom Jackson and his wife, Ann, Deer River, Minn.,
and Sue Jacobson and her husband, Larry, Clear Lake; six grandchildren, Jolene
M. O'Brien and her husband, John, Rockwell, Sandra K. Jackson of Rockwell,
James D. Jackson and his wife, Sonji of Klemme, Jon Jackson and his wife,
Lisa, Polk city, Joel Jacobson and his wife, Andrea, Des Moines, and Julia
Glanzer and her husband, Darin of Vadnais Heights, Minn.; six
great-grandchildren, Madison, Trevor, Shelby and Alec Jackson, and Emma and
Elliot Jacobson; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Debbi Jackson; three
brothers; and three sisters.
