Hinda G. (Mrs. Irving (Speed)) Wallace, 92, of Clear Lake, formerly of Mason
City, died Monday, Oct. 31, 1994.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m. at the Zion
Lutheran Church, 112 North Fourth Street, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dean Hess
and the Rev. Murley Severtson officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held today (Wednesday), from 4-8 p.m. at the Ward-Van
Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 North Fourth Street, Clear Lake, and one hour prior
to the service at the church on Thursday.

Hinda G. Wallace was born June 29, 1902, in Forest City, the daughter of
Henry S. Johnson and Ida (nee) Ramberg Johnson.

The family moved to Minot, S.D., where Hinda attended school.

She married Irving (Speed) Wallace in Long Beach, Calif., on Feb. 29, 1924.
They moved to Minot where they lived until 1938 when they moved to Mason City.
Throughout much of her life she accompanied her husband, a free-lance writer,
and assisted in his research. They considered Mason City their home, however
for the past 14 years they also had a home in Clear Lake.

Her Christianity and her family were very important parts of her life. She
was an accomplished artists exhibiting paintings at the Chicago Worlds Fair
and taught china painting in her own studio.

She is survived by one daughter Wanda Kennedy and her husband, Jack, Clear
Lake; four grandchildren, Sam Kennedy and his wife, Denise, Clear Lake, Sally
(Kennedy) Roper and her husband, Albert, Clear Lake, Scott Kennedy, Clear
Lake, and Sue (Kennedy) Bristol and her husband, Richard, Littleton, Colo.;
nine great-grandchildren, Colton and Kristian Kennedy, Ginny, Danielle, A.J.,
Charles and Zachary Roper, all of Clear Lake, and Samantha and Jackson
Bristol of Littleton, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two sisters.
