Nellie Louise Jones, 93, 214 N. Lakeview Dr., Clear Lake, died Thursday,
March 19, 2009 at Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake. A funeral service was held
Saturday, March 21, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel. The Rev. Jeff Ungs of
Galilean Lutheran Church officiated. Interment was at the Clear Lake Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Nellie Jones Memorial Fund.

Louise was born July 10, 1915 in Clear Lake, the daughter of Samuel and
Irene (Bower) Farrow. She attended country school close to home. She married
Dwain Fuston in 1931 and worked as a retail and grocery clerk in Garner, Iowa
until relocating to Burlington, Iowa in the 1960’s to work for the State of
Iowa.

In 1974 she married Les Jones and, after retiring, they were able to travel
and enjoy gardening. Louise moved to Clear Lake after Les’s death to be close to
family. She enjoyed her lakeside apartment and made multiple crocheted lap
blankets which she donated to residents at the Oakwood Care Center and
Salvation Army. Louise also enjoyed counted-cross stitch, quilting, card
playing and Hawkeye sports.

Louise is survived by her sister, Helen Peterson, Clear Lake; brothers, Bob
Farrow and his wife, Bev, Norwalk, Iowa, Jay Farrow and his wife, Darlene,
Adel, Iowa and Donald Farrow, Medina, Ohio. She will also be sadly missed by
several nieces and nephews.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Irene; brother, Lynn;
sisters, Leona, Dorothy and Maxine.
