Leo C. Jorgensen, 86, formerly of Clear Lake died Thursday, March 26, 1998 at
the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City, Iowa.

Graveside services were held Monday, March 30, at the Clear Lake Cemetery
with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. A Masonic service was held at the grave.
The family suggests memorials to your favorite charity in memory of Leo C.
Jorgensen.

Leo was born Oct. 14, 1911 in Franklin County, Iowa, the son of Danish
immigrants Nels Peter and Carrie (Larsen) Jorgensen. He graduated from Hampton
High School. Following graduation he pursued a career in the field of banking.
He went from bookkeeper to chairman of the board at Citizens State Bank in
Iowa Falls, Iowa, and Alden State Bank, Alden, Iowa.

On June 28, 1933 he was united in marriage with Gert Schwieger in Hampton,
Iowa. The couple lived in Iowa Falls before moving to Clear Lake following
Leo’s retirement in 1974. After 55 years of marriage, Gert died on March 11,
1988. Leo then moved to Ft. Meyers, Fla. He returned to Mason City, Iowa in
1994.

He was a member of various civic organizations, including the Masonic Lodge
where he was a 55 year member, and the El Kahir Shrine, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He
was a member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church.

He is survived by one brother, a daughter, and two grandsons, as well as
numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother; and brothers and
sisters-in-law.
