MACDONALD, BAUMGARTNER, HOLTHAUS

James A. MacDonald, 58, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and a Clear Lake native,
passed away on Nov. 30, 2006 at Bay Pines V.A. Hospital, Bay Pines, Fla., after
a lengthy illness. Due to his wishes his body has been cremated. A memorial
service was held Tuesday Dec. 5, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, with the
Rev. Dennis Ganz officiating. A graveside inurnment will be held at the Clear
Lake Cemetery, at a later date. Memorials may be made in memory of James A.
MacDonald.

James was born in Munich, Germany on Feb. 17, 1948 to Lt. Jack G. and Elizabeth
(Baumgartner) MacDonald. His father was stationed in Munich with the U.S. Army
Air Corps where he flew P-47 fighter planes until he was killed in a plane crash
in late 1948. Upon his death, the family returned to take up residence in Clear Lake.

Jim was a 1966 graduate of Clear Lake High School where he participated in
basketball and baseball. He enjoyed all kinds of sporting activities. He enjoyed
playing cards, all types of trivia and TV games shows. He attended the
University of Iowa and served in the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge, he moved to
Clear Lake.

Jim is survived by a sister, Susan (Adrian) Holthaus, Decorah, Iowa; a brother,
Jack (Julie) MacDonald, Clear Lake; several nieces and nephews; and his
companion of 12 years, Holly Kelly of Port Charlotte, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
