Louise M. Allen, 94, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005 at the Muse
Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit Mason City, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held 1
p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1001 9th Ave South,
Clear Lake, with Msgr. Robert Hogan officiating. Interment will be at Clear Lake
Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of North Iowa.

Louise was born May 2, 1911, in Swaledale, Iowa, the daughter of Theresa
Leinhaas. Louise graduated from Swaledale High School in 1929, and was a
graduate of Hamilton Business College. She worked for Carl Snyder Insurance
Company in Mason City for 14 years.

Louise married Alfred John Allen on April 1, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa. Shortly
after their marriage they purchased the Hilltop Motel in Clear Lake which she
operated until her death. In 1951 theystarted the Allen Travel Agency and, over
a time, owned and operated 22 travel agencies throughout Iowa and Kansas. They
enjoyed traveling throughout the world. Following the death of her husband
she continued to run the motel and travel agency with her two sons.

She was very involved with life and business right to the end. She enjoyed her
cats, flowers, gardening and taking care of her motel. She was a member of St.
Patrick's Catholic Church, Clear Lake.

Louise is survived by her three children, Teri Allen, Glendale, Calif.; John
Ritz Allen, Clear Lake and Jay Allen and his wife, Trish, Clear Lake;
sister-in-law, Margaret Van Vark, Pella, Iowa; six grandchildren, Lisa (Mark)
Miller, Leslie Burgess, Lincoln Allen and fiancée, Kelly O'Hara, Libbey (Troy)
Wood, Diana Allen and Jessica Allen and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband and two brothers.
