Carl T. Nielsen, 83, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, June 18, 2006 at the Good
Shepherd Care Center, Mason City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held Wednesday,
June 21, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dean Hess
officiating. Interment will be in Clear Lake Cemetery with Military Honors by
the Clear Lake V.F.W. Memorials may be made to the Carl T. Nielsen Memorial
Fund.

Carl was born Sept. 14, 1922 in Mason City, the son of Niels Thorvald and
Christine M. (Boesen) Nielsen. Carl was a graduate of Clear Lake High School.
Following his graduation he worked at Omaha Steel. Carl enlisted in the U.S.
Army during WWII and served in North Africa, Normandy and the Bulge. After the
service he moved to Clear Lake and worked at AMPI, retiring in 1983. While working
at AMPI he was a union steward. He was well known for his welding capabilities
and he traveled throughout the Midwest welding at creameries.

Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to all sporting activities and watching his
family. He enjoyed the commorodity at the V.F.W. and being on the Honor Guard.
He was a member of the Clear Lake V.F.W. and the Teamsters Union.

Carl is survived by his son, Andy (Brenda) Nielsen, and one grandchild, Levi
Nielsen, of Mason City. He was preceded in death by his parents.
