Gustav J. "Gus" Brandt, 75, of Clear Lake, died Monday, Feb. 20, 1995, at Good
Shepherd Healthcare Center, Mason City.

A funeral Mass was held Thursday, Feb. 23, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church,
with the Monsignor Joseph J. Slepicka officiating. Burial was in the Clear Lake
Cemetery, where military honors were conducted by the Clear Lake VFW.

Gustav J. Brandt was born Aug. 24, 1919, in Wesley, the son of Gustav and
Ella (Uhlenhake) Brandt. Gus moved to Clear Lake as a child and attended
Wesley and Clear Lake schools. He served in the Army during World War II, and
was stationed in Germany. Gus worked for Kennedy's for over 40 years until
retiring. He enjoyed raising flowers and spending time with his dog, Cricket.
Gus was a member of thee Veterans of Foreign Wars, AmVets Post 135
and St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

He is survived by three sisters, Helen Henderson, Mason City, and her
husband; Katherine Fluhrer and her husband, Verl, Manly; and Mary Lou Hannafan
and her husband, A.J., Clinton; one sister-in-law, Naomi Brandt.
