Tampla, Fla.- Dixie (Stickney)Cain, age 72, of Tampa, Fla., and formerly of Nora Springs, Iowa, died Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Hospice in Tampa.
There is no visitation, her body was cremated. She will have a portion of her ashes sent back to Iowa to be buried by her parents, Jesse and Louise Stickney, at the Rudd Cemetery. She especially missed the springtime lilacs and will certainly have them now.
Dixie was born March 2, 1941, in Nora Springs, attended and graduated from Nora Springs High School. She was united in marriage to Charles Cain and lived in Tampa, Fla. She had a deep love for her church and grandchildren. She loved listening to old music and reading magazines and regarding the olden days and topics on Mason City.
She is survived by her husband, Charles, and two sons, Charlie and Jessie (Kathy) Cain; three grandchildren: Jasmine, Michael and Tabatha; one great-grandchild, Trey. Also surviving are a brother, Patrick (Bonnie) Stickney; sisters,* Clara (Walt) Ingalls and Dianna (Spencer) Weaver; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Louise Stickney; brother Jesse Jr.; and one sister Darlene.
NOTE: Dixie is also survived by a sister Sharon (Walter) Bonjour, of Mason City, Iowa.
