Sandra Rose West, 70, of 1917 South Shore Drive, died Tuesday June 7, 2005 at
Mercy Medical Center, North Iowa. A memorial service was held Friday, June 10,
at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Kenneth Gehling
officiating. A private inurnment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Memorials
may be directed to the Sandra Rose West Memorial Fund, which will be used
towards the Clear Lake Pride Lions Club and the Clear Lake V.F.W. Building Fund.

Sandra R. West was born Dec. 24, 1934 in Waukee, Iowa, the daughter of John and
Mary (Tollari) Rilei. Sandra graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines,
Iowa in 1952. She attended Drake University, majoring in business. She was
employed by Bradshaw, Fowler, Proctor and Fairgrave Law Firm. She was united
in marriage to Richard D. West on Nov. 2, 1959. To this union two children were
born. They moved to Clear Lake where they owned and operated the Half Moon Inn
until 1968.

She was employed by Price Surveying for 30 years, until her retirement. Sandra
then owned and operated Camp at the Woods in Rock Falls, Iowa
Sandra enjoyed spending time with friends and family, entertaining, and life on
the lake. She was a charter member of the Clear Lake Pride Lions Club and St.
Patrick's Catholic Church.

Sandra is survived by her mother, Mary Rilei, of West Des Moines; daughter,
Susan West (Steve Widener), of Clive, Iowa; grandchildren, Stephanie Widener
and Steven Widener, of Clive; sister, Joan (Bill) Crowell, of San Diego, Calif.;
niece, Lisa (Randy) Turner, of Sacramento, Calif.; nephew, Jeff Crowell, of San
Diego, Calif.; great-nephew, Ross Turner and great-niece, Caitlin Turner, both
of Sacramento.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Rilei and son, Kevin West.
