Maxine Risvold, 89, of 2115 North Shore Drive, Clear Lake, died Thursday, Nov.
18, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City.
A funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 22, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel,
Clear Lake, with the Rev. Kenneth B. Gehling officiating. Burial was in Memorial
Park Cemetery, Mason City. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the
Maxine Risvold Memorial that will be later donated to the American Heart Association
and the United Way in her memory.Maxine Perkins was born Dec. 30, 1920, in Corwith, Iowa, the daughter of William
and Evalena (Robinson) Perkins. She graduated from Corwith High School in the
class of 1939. On Nov. 16, 1939, she was united in marriage to J. Alvin Risvold.
To this union their beloved daughter, Marlene, was born on April 25, 1941.Maxine and Alvin moved to Clear Lake in the 1950's and built their house in
1956, where she currently resided. When Maxine's daughter and son-in-law passed
away, she became very devoted to her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
Maxine enjoyed spending time with her family and loved shopping. She was a past
member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Corwith and Zion Lutheran Church, Clear
Lake, and a past member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.Maxine is survived by her loving granddaughters, Lindsey Petersen Swan and
husband, Rick, Des Moines, Iowa, Leslie Petersen Sloan and husband, David,
Garner, Iowa; great-grandchildren Martin Nicholas Bachman and Samuel Richard
Bachman, both of Minneapolis, Minn., Colton Mitchell Bachman and fiance,
Brittany Dewaard, Garner, Tori Jean Sloan and Evan David Sloan, both of Garner
and Anna Lee Swan, Iowa City, Iowa; godsons Steve (Ann) Petersen, Cedar Rapids,
Iowa and Milo Risvold, Mason City; along with several nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
