Yvonne “Bonnie” Ellefson – Clear Lake – Mrs. Yvonne (Bonnie) Ellefson, 60, of 7496 315th St. died Saturday (Oct 26, 1996) at the Oakwood Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Dean Hess of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation begins today at 4 p.m. at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St. , Clear Lake. The family suggests memorials to the Yvonne (Bonnie) Ellefson memorial fund.

Bonnie was born June 30, 1936, in Bolan, the daughter of Ernie and Laura (Braun) Prohaska. She graduated from West High School, Waterloo, in 1954. Bonnie married Earl Prestholt in 1955 and they lived in Clear Lake. She worked for several years in Easters and for Schneiders Metal in Mason City. Bonnie married Vern Ellefson Jr. May 8, 1982, at the Little Brown Church Nashua.

Bonnie enjoyed sewing, playing bingo, her animals, most of all her grandkids, and was a great supporter of Clear Lake Little League. Bonnie has been battling with MS since 1968.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Vern Ellefson Jr. of Clear Lake; one daughter, Joyce Hill of Clear Lake; two sons, Vernon Ellefson II of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Robert Ellefson of Mason City; one sister, Fern Miller of Clear Lake; two brothers, Glenn Prohaska and his wife, Peggy, of Cedar Rapids and Jerry Prohaska; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Josephine Ellefson of Clear Lake; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Cathy Carpenter; one nephew, Ryan Boeshart; and her father-in-law, Vernon Ellefson Sr.
