Anna Gertrude Callanan, 86, formerly of Clear Lake, and Anna Maria, Fla.,
passed away peacefully on July 19, 2010 at Tidewell Hospice House of Bradenton,
Fla. A graveside service was held Friday, July 30, at the Clear Lake Cemetery,
with the Rev. Diana Hoover officiating.

Anna was born June 2, 1924 in Rhode Island. As a young woman Anna moved from
New York City to Clear Lake. Anna married Paul Callanan in 1951. Anna’s first
job here was working for People’s Gas and Electric (PG&E). Anna was a
bookkeeper for Farmers Lumber in Clear Lake for over 30 years. She was a
lifelong member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church.

Paul and Anna went to Florida for years in the winters, staying near Bradenton.
After Paul’s death in 1995, Anna moved to Anna Maria, Fla., near her sister,
Ethel.

She is survived by a niece, Jean DeNoyelles; her grand-nieces Sadie Hope and
husband, Thomas, of Bradenton Beach and Jenna DeNoyelles. Also surviving is her
brother-in-law, Ed Callanan of Clear Lake; nephew Mike Callanan and his wife,
Cathy, Clear Lake; great nieces and nephews, Adam Callanan and his wife Susan,
Mason City, Abby Wagner and her husband Bryan, La Vista, Neb. and Casey Callanan
and his wife Hunter, Clear Lake; niece, Karen Giarratano and husband, Tom, and
family of Marshalltown, Iowa; nephew, Roger Juhl and wife, Judie and their
family from Rochester, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents; and her sisters,
Ethel and Alice.
