JIMMIE J. HANLEY - CLEAR LAKE - Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church here for Jimmie J. Hanley, 69, of Clear lake, who died Friday (May 18, 1984) at a Mason City hospital. The Rev. Keith Tomlinson will officiate at the service, with burial in Clear Lake Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Saratoga Post 4868, Clear Lake. Visitation begins at 3 this afternoon at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.
Mr. Hanley was born Feb. 25, 1915 in Rockport, Mo., to James and Poca (Vanderpool) Hanley. He attended Rockport and New Hampton schools. He served in the Army in World War II.
He married Alma M. Pedersen on Oct. 12, 1940 in Clear Lake. He worked at Clear Lake Sand and Gravel and retired in 1973 because of ill health after working for Cerro Gordo County for 17 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alma; one daughter, Carolyn Nichols, Clear Lake; two sons, Jerry, Cedar Rapids, and Duane, Clear Lake; five grandchildren; one sister, Betty Thurtle, Clear Lake; and three brothers, Guy, Ariel, Wash.; James, Satsuma, Fla., and Robert, Superior Wis.
