Andrew "Andy" I. Jackson, 95, of Highway 9 E., Manly, Iowa died Wednesday, Dec.
8, 2004 at the Manly Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were
held Monday, Dec. 13, 11 a.m., at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.
Interment was in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to Andrew
I. Jackson Memorial Fund.

Andy was born March 27, 1909 in Pipestone, Minn. the son of Hubert Andrew and
Violet Pearl Usher Jackson. He attended rural country school in Cerro Gordo
County. He served in the U.S. Marines during the WWII.
He lived in Des Moines, Iowa for many years and worked for Firestone Tire Co.
He later lived in Goshen, Ind. and in Algona, Iowa where he worked in an
airplane parts factory. He owned a restaurant in Britt.
Andy enjoyed dancing, working on his cars, joking around and bowling.

He is survived by six children, Dorothy Marie Vance, Des Moines, Andrew Jackson
Jr. and his wife, Lucy, Goshen, Eleanor Hogan, Waterville, Minn., Darline
Price, Earlham, Iowa, Arline Evans and her husband, Larry, Cape Cod, Fla. and
Eunice Benner and her husband, Larry, Albert Lea, Minn.; his sister, Marcella
Thomas, Clear Lake; 30 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and
great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marella Jackson; sister, Rachael
Johnson and her husband, Kenneth; brother, Fred Jackson and his wife,
Marguerite; brother-in-law, Charles Thomas and three grandchildren.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
