Florence Mae Heifner, 83, Clear Lake, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 1994, at the
Muse Norris Hospice Center, Mason City, Iowa, following a one year illness
with cancer.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 3, at the United Methodist Church,
Clear Lake, with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Burial was in the Memorial
Park Cemetery, Mason City.
The family suggests memorials to the Florence Heifner Memorial Fund.

Florence was born Feb. 20, 1911, in Iowa Falls, the daughter of Marcus Bacon
and Myrtie Wilson Bacon, and attended schools at Iowa Falls and Titonka
Consolidated Schools, graduating in 1929.

She was united in marriage to Clair Heifner on April 16, 1934, in Des Moines,
Iowa. They farmed in the Titonka and Clear Lake areas until moving to Clear
Lake in 1945.

Florence was a member of the Methodist Church, Miriam Circle, Tina Rebekah
Lodge, volunteered at Handicap Village and Retired Senior Citizen Program. She
enjoyed flower gardening, knitting, crocheting, camping, fishing, and her
family. One of her greatest loves was making beautiful gifts for her family.

She is survived by her husband, Clair Heifner; three daughter, Ina Lee and her
husband, Alan, Madison, Wis., Judith Heifner, Morris, Ill., and Beth Fink and
her husband, Jeffrey Abel, Hampton, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Lynell Gile,
Bradley Abel and his wife, Susan, Kristy Abbas and her husband, Matt, Jolie
Fink, Jason Fink; eight great-grandchildren, Timothy and Amanda Gile,
Stephanie, Andrew, Elizabeth and Peter Plagenz, Jordan and Nicholas Abel;
three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Smith and her husband, Clarence, Iowa Falls, Iowa,
Rosemary Isebrand and her husband, Merle, Okeechobee, Fla., Shirley Neel and
her husband, Clyde, Clear Lae; one brother, Vern Bacon and his wife, Anna
Grace, Clear Lake; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald and Lewis; and
one great-granddaughter.

Organist Mary Jane Reynolds accompanied soloist Marilyn Sadler. Honorary
pallbearers were Dennis Best, Robert Tibbets, Robert Friest, James P.
Hansen, David Smith, Pastor Michael Plke; one brother, Vern Bacon and his
wife, Anna Grace, Clear Lake; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers
were Jeffrey Clair Abel, Bradley Ross Abel, Jason Richard Fink,
Matthew Lyn Abbas, Marcus L. Bacon, David Scott Neel.
