Brian Stewart Wilder, 38, of Clear Lake, Iowa, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998,
while working in DeWitt, Iowa.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 11 at Clear Lake United Methodist
Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Burial was in the
Clear Lake Cemetery.

Brian Stewart was born Feb. 28, 1960, in Mason City, Iowa, son of Stewart and
Lenna (Mariner) Wilder. Brian grew up in Clear Lake and graduated from Clear
Lake High School in 1978.

Shortly after graduating Brian worked as a meat cutter then worked seven years
at Water Tower Paint and Repair. He then worked two years at Clear Lake
Sanitary and Sewer, three years at Rochester Sanitary and Sewer, and then
returned to Water Tower Paint and Repair where he worked the past seven years.
He enjoyed archery, hunting, fishing, running his dogs, and playing cribbage.

He is survived by his son, Nathan Wilder, Humboldt, Iowa; his parents, Stewart
and Lenna Wilder, Garner, Iowa; five sisters, Bonnie Gehringer and her
husband, Ron, Longmont, Colo., Beth Moen and her husband, Barry, Sheridan,
Wyo., Barbara Wallner and her husband, Jeff, Virginia, Minn., Becky Spilman
and her husband, Randy, Clear Lake, and Brenda Hughes, Peoria, Ariz.; his
maternal grandmother, Yolanda Mariner, Mason City; 11 nieces and nephews; and
several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wilson J. Mariner; his
paternal grandparents, Frank and Lillian Wilder; and several uncles.
