SWALEDALE — Retired pastor Thomas Ewing HOLLAND, 88, of Swaledale, died Friday (Nov. 15, 1985) at a Mason City hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Sheffield. The Rev. Randy CREATH will officiate, with burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery here.

Mr. HOLLAND was born July 30, 1897, at Bridgeton, N.J., to Edward Lansing HOLLAND and Alice (EWING) HOLLAND. He received his education and attended school at Pillsbury Academy, Owatonna, Minn. He was later trained at Northwestern Bible School. Lawrence College, Appleton, Wis.. and Northern Bible Seminary, Chicago.

On June 1, 1921, Mr. HOLLAND married Ida Sylvia JOHNSON at Wheaton, Minn. He served churches in North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. His last charge was in Owatonna from 1945 to 1953, at which time he retired and moved to Duluth, Minn.

He and Mrs. HOLLAND moved to Geneva in 1971, where they lived until his wife's death in 1972. He then lived at the Baptist Retirement Apartments from 1972 until 1977, after which he made his home with his daughters in the Clear Lake and Swaledale area.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. this afternoon at Grarup Funeral Home, Sheffield.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Leo (Margaret) EDDY. Swaledale, and Mrs. Eugene (Dorothy) BALL, Sunrise, Fla.; two sisters; Mrs. Harvey (Anna) NELSON, Humboldt, and Mrs. Carl (Edna) KROLL, Phoenix. Ariz.: six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
