Clifford (Biff) Hansen, 78, of 100 N. 14th St., Clear Lake, died Friday, July
8, 1994, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center east campus.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 12, at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial
Chapel, with the Rev. Murley Severtson officiating.
Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Military honors were provided by
Clear Lake V.F.W. Post No. 4868.
The family suggests memorials in his name.

He was born July 1, 1916, to Hans Peter (H.P.) Hansen and Inger Olsen Hansen,
of Ute, Iowa. He received his education in Ute and graduated from Ute High School in 1934.

In April of 1941 he entered the United States Army, serving his country as a
Master Sergeant in the Engineer Corps during World War II. He moved home in
August of 1945. He and his brother formed a construction company and built
many homes in the Clear Lake area.

On Oct. 16, 1948, he married Lois Ann (Lindy) Olsen in Clear Lake.

Clifford joined Henkel Construction Company in 1956 as a carpenter foreman.
He retired in 1978 and formed LinCliff Inc., a family business formed around his patented invention.
He enjoyed fishing, sports, gardening and spending time with his family. He
was a 50-year member of Carpenters Local 1313 and a Charter member of Clear Lake V.F.W. Post No. 4868.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ray Hansen; and a daughter, Cathy Marnette Hansen.
