Funeral Service For William J. Dodd, 74,
To Be Held Tuesday

Funeral service for William J. DODD, 74 years old, 327 Second Street southwest, a resident of Mason City for the past 13 years, who died at his home at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the McCauley funeral parlors, the Rev. Jewel L PICKET officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery (sic, interment was made at Pleasant Valley Township Cemetery, rural Swaldale, Iowa).

Mr. DODD, who has been a flagman on the Chicago Great Western railroad for the past 13 years, died after a lingering illness. He is survived by his widow and five daughters: Mrs. Anna PHILLIS, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. S. W. BEERY, Mason City; E. Embury BEERY, Rockford; Mrs. Burt SAULSBURY, Nora Springs; Miss Etta DODD, Mason City; and five sons: J. B. DODD and Roy DODD, Mason City; Perry, Waterloo; Frank, Glen Cove, Long Island, N.Y.; and Ervin, Portland, Ore.

One son, Leonard and one infant son died a number of years ago.

Mr. DODD was born Aug. 11, 1855 near Belle Plaine. He moved to Leonardsville, Kansas, In 1899 he move to Swaledale, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa. The balance of his life he spent in Cerro Gordo county.
