Obituary - Lucretia Isabel (Dugan) Dodd
1863 ~ 1950

OSAGE - Funeral rites are pending for Lucretia Isabel DODD, 87, who died Christmas afternoon at the home of her daughter and family, the Walter BEERY'S, at Osage, had resided at Mason City and Osage for many years.

Born Lucretia Isabel DUGAN to William and Elizabeth DUGAN, Jan 25, 1863, near Toledo, Ia, she spent her girlhood there and in 1880 was married to Jasper DODD. The couple lived at Swaledale, where Mr. DODD was employed by the railroad. Upon the husband's retirement, the couple moved to Mason City where Mr. DODD died in 1929. She continued to resided at Mason City with another daughter and with Mrs. BEERY at Osage, until her death.

She leaves 10 children, Edward, Fairfield, Neb.; Calle and Ben Ernie, Tacoma, Wash.; Frank and Irvin, Salem, Ore.; Mrs. Anne [Frank] PHILLIS, Leonardville, Kan.; Mrs. Walter M. [Mary May] BEERY, Osage; Mrs. Minne E. [Ernest] BEERY, Mason City; Mrs. Harold [Etta] JULER, Tacoma; and Mrs. Bert [Bessie] SAULSBERRY, Bellingham, Wash.; 44 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren. and a half-brother, Ansel RUPE of Blackfoot, Ida.

Preceding her in death were two infant children, her husband and five brothers.

OSAGE - Funeral rites are schedules for 2 pm Saturday at the Champion funeral home for Mrs. Lucretia Isabel DODD, 87, who died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. E. BEERY, in Osage. Burial was made in Swaledale [Pleasant Valley Township] cemetery. She was born Lucretia Isabel DUGAN to Bill and Elizabeth DUGAN near Toledo, Ia,. The family moved to Swaledale where she was married in 1880 to Jasper DODD, and lived there during the time her husband was a railroad employee. They moved to Mason City where her husband died in 1929.

Mrs. DODD lived near Osage with a daughter and in Mason City with a another daughter since 1941.

She leaves 10 children, 44 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and a half-brother Ansel RUPE of Blackfoot, Ida.

Preceding her in death were her husband, two children in infancy and five half-brothers.

NOTE: Lucretia's maiden name has also been spelled as DUGON
