1884 ~ 1935

Wednesday, March 13, 1935

Ernest Merrell BEERY, 50, died at the home of his son, Shelby, who resides north of Mason City about 3 miles, Monday evening from heart disease. Mr. BEERY had been residing on a farm near Northwood and was moving to Clear Lake.

Mr. BERRY was born at Edgar, Neb., April 20, 1884, and spent most of his early life in that vicinity. He was married to Minnie E. DODD, Aug 26, 1904, at Mason City. To this union were born 11 children, all of whom survive Mr. BEERY.

At the age of 21 Mr. BEERY came to Iowa. He resided in Tama county six years, in Howard county eight years and finally came to Cerro Gordo county in 1928. Four years ago he moved to the farm he had been residing on near Northwood.

Surviving Mr. BEERY are his wife and children, Clyde M. of Traer, Carl E., Everett G. and Shelby L., all of Mason City; Mrs. Melvin MUTH, Plymouth, and Howard L., Robert, Beatrice, Ernest, Jr., and Donald, All at Home. Mr. BEERY'S mother, Mrs Mary BEERY, Edgar, Neb., and one brother, S. W. BEERY of Plymouth, also survive him.

Mr. BEERY'S father, one sister and two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed Tuesday. The body was taken to the Randall Funeral Home.

NOTE: Interment was made at Pleasant Valley Township Cemetery, rural Swaledale, Iowa.
