Kathryn H. Rowson, 81, of Coralville, formerly of Clear Lake, died Aug. 22,
1994, at her sons home following a brief illness.

She was born March 3, 1913 in Mason City, the daughter of Russell Bruce Kennedy
and Floy Glacier Kennedy. She grew up and attended schools in Clear lake,
graduating from Clear Lake High School and later attended Hamilton Business
School. She was a secretary.

Her memberships included the Tina Rebekah Lodge, Navy Mothers, and the First
Congregational Church, Clear Lake.

She was married to Deloss L. Rowson in 1938 in Clear Lake. He died in 1988.

They had lived in Clear Lake and upon their retirment, the couple moved to
Mountain Home, Ark., and in 1992, Kathryn moved to Coralville.

Graveside services for Kathryn and Deloss Rowson were held Friday, Aug. 26, at
the Hampton Cemetery. There was no visitation, their bodies were cremated. The
Rev. Charles Williams officiated the service.

Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Kidney
Foundation.

She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth (Betty) Johannessen of Tucson, Ariz.; a
son, Lawrence (Larry) Rowson of Coralville; four grandchildren; one
great-grandson; and a brother, Dr. W.B. Kennedy of Urbandale.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
