ELFRIEDA C. WOIWOD, 91, of Garner, died Monday, April 10, 1995, at Concord
Care Center in Garner.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 13, at St. John's Lutheran Church northeast
of Garner with Rev. Carl R. Hedberg officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park
Cemetery in Mason City.
The Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner was in charge of services.

Elfrieda Caroline Woiwod was born Aug. 19, 1903, the daughter of Fred and Alvina
(Wreded) Zeitz, on a Greene County farm near Churdan, Iowa. She was baptized
Sept. 20, 1903, and confirmed May 19, 1918 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Farnhamville.
She moved with her family to Fairmont, Minn. She worked as a nanny in Milwaukee, Wis.

On June 21, 1931, she married Alfred H. Woiwod at Fairmont, Minn. They farmed northeast
of Garner until 1965, when her husband died. Elfrieda moved to Clear Lake in 1968,
where she lived with her daughter, Ina Mae Woiwod. She had worked in Clear Lake at
Oakwood Care Center and at the Ben Franklin store. Due to ill health, she moved to
Concord Care Center in Garner in September of 1993. She was a member
of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, L.W.M.L. and the Senior Citizen Clubs in both
Clear Lake and Ventura.

She is survived by a daughter, Elda Ann Motland of Hiawatha; a daughter-in-law,
Kathy Woiwod, Garner; five grandchildren, Rodney A. Fuller and his wife, Cecile,
Manhatten Beach, Calif., Nancy A. Gates and her husband, Rick, Clear Lake, and their
son, Brian, Elizabeth S. Waddingham and her husband, Mark, Garner,
and their daughter, Megan, Neal A. Woiwod and Susan K. Woiwod,
both of Garner; three brothers, Ernest Zietz and his wife, Helen, Arnold Zeitz
and his wife, Lorena and Alvin Zeitz and his wife, Lois, all of Fairmont, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred H. Woiwod, March 13, 1965;
a son, Arlo Woiwod, Jan. 23, 1991; and a daughter, Ina Mae Woiwod, Feb. 13, 1993.

Pallbearers were Elda Ann Motland, Kathy Woiwod, Rodney Fuller, Cecile Fuller, Nancy
Gates, Rick Gates, Elizabeth Waddingham, Mark Waddingham, Neal Woiwod and
Susan Woiwod.
