FUNERAL TO BE ON THURSDAYHad Been Invalid Since She
Suffered Stroke Five Years Ago.Mrs. William L. Dibble wife of the pastor of the First Congregational church here, died Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock at her home 221 Third Street Northeast, after having been an Invalid for the past five years.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Congregational church, with the Rev. W. H. Spence of the First Methodist church in charge and the Rev. George C Davies of the First Presbyterian church and the Rev. W. B. Milne, pastor of the Congregational church at Clear Lake assisting. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.
Pallbearers will be C. A. Parker. Remley J. Glass, Walter Erickson, James Van Kleek, George L. Payne and L. S. Thompson.
Attended Teachers College.
Mrs. Dibble, who was Miss Maude Cornwell, was born at Oronoco, Minnesota, March 21, 1870. She received her early schooling in that community and completed her education In the State Teachers college at Winona, Minn., where she was graduated with a state teacher's certificate.
For five years she was principal of the public schools at Willow Lakes, S. Dak., and acted as secretary to her brother, A. H. Cornwell, for two terms when he was a member of the South Dakota legislature.It was while she was an instructor at the Willow Lakes schools that she met Mr. Dibble, who was pastor in his first parish In that community during an interval between his college and seminary work. They were married Sept 1, 1802 at Rochester. Minn.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Dibble leaves two sons, Lester C. Dibble, Mason City attorney, and John W. Dibble, La Porte, Indiana.
Mrs. Dibble had always been in good health until seven years ago when she underwent a major operation and two years' later when she suffered a stroke, which left her an invalid until her death.
She had been out for a short ride Tuesday afternoon and had just been placed by her nurse on the day bed in her home when she died.
Mrs. Dibble had been a resident of Mason City 16 years, coming here from Charles City, where Mr. Dibble was pastor for six years.
