Marcella Eileen "Sally" (Mestad) Ballantyne -- August 20, 2022 -- December 24, 1997

Marcella Eileen (Sally) Ballantyne, 75, of Chillicothe, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997 at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Mo.

Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 27 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Bro. Alan Brock officiating and assisted by Bro. Larry Reeter.

Burial was in Edgewood Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Calvary Baptist Church or the Salvation Army.

Marcella Ballantyne was born Aug. 20, 1922 in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Maude Conibear Mestad. She attended school in Clear Lake.

On Oct. 30, 1940, she married George L. Ballantyne in Bethany, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1967. She moved to Chillicoteh from Argos, Ind., where she lived for the last 50 years. Marcella was a homemaker and was employed by Boss Glove Factory in Chillicothe.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Ballantyne Barnes, Chillicothe; a son, Gary Ballantyne, Chillicothe; a sister, Beverly Tindall, Carol Stream, Ill.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and an infant brother.
