John Byron Deach – September 13, 1884 – August 18, 1948
Plan Rites for J.B. Deach, 64 Services at Ward's Saturday, 2:30 p.m.
Clear Lake - Funeral services for John B. Deach, 64, who died at his home on the north shore Wednesday evening after a long illness, will be held at Ward's funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2:30. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Deach had been bedfast about 14 months.
Mr. Deach was born Sept. 13, 1884 in Spink County, S. Dakota, son of John and Lucinda Deach. The family moved to Floyd County, Iowa when he was still a small child.
He was married to Miss Nellie Breakey of Nora Springs at the Christian parsonage, Charles City, Oct. 3, 1910, by the Rev. Mr. Burch, pastor. They have lived in this vacinity since. Mr. Deach was a carpenter by trade and served as a plain clothes policeman at Mason City and as a deputy sheriff with Jack Robinson. he was also deputy sheriff in Floyd and Mitchell counties. the Deaches had lived at Clear Lake 3 years.
Besides his wife, Mr. Deach is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Don Estle, 15 20th S.E., Mason City; 5 grandchildren and 2 sisters, Mrs. T. A. Burt, Sheridan, Wyo., and Mrs. Walter Mathers, Charles City.
He was preceded by death by his parents, a daughter Estella Marie, 21, who died 12 years ago; a brother Elmer Deach, Fisher Minn., and 2 sisters, Mrs. Frank Wetzel, Bramer, Mo., and Mrs. Casey Riley, Sheridan, Wyo.
