Sunday, July 15, 2012Mason City - H. T. "Dixie" NELSON, 92, of Mason City went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 12, 2012, at the Heritage Care Center, Mason City.
A funeral Mass for Dixie will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams, Mason City, with the Rev. Neil MANTERNACH and Monsignor Joseph J. SLEPICKA, concelebrants. Burial will follow at the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Wednesday.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa.
H. T. "Dixie" NELSON, daughter of Christy and Blanch (YEZEK) HEBEL, was born Nov. 4, 1919, in Manly, Iowa. Dixie attended Kensett schools and graduated from the Mason City School of Cosmetology. Dixie was employed at the Mason City School of Cosmetology as an instructor and also worked at her own hair shop in Mason City.
Dixie was a parishioner of the Holy Family Catholic Church.
She will be missed by her brother, Christy HEBEL, Yelm, Washington; sisters, Clarice NELSON and Blanche SALAND, both of Waterloo, and Dorothy (Tom) NAPLES, Long Lake, Minn.; along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, step-children, grandchildren and many dear friends and neighbors.
Dixie will be remembered as a wonderful sister, friend and aunt.
