MASON CITY - Dale G. HELM, 79, of 222 S. Pierce, died Friday (June 18, 1999) at Sunrise Care Center, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania, Mason City, with the Rev. David ANDERSON of St. James Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Plymouth.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home and will continue until the time of the service Monday.

Memorials may be directed to the Dale G. HELM Memorial Fund.

Dale G. HELM was born Feb. 27, 1920, in Plymouth, the son of Clarence A. and Tilba (ROSSUM) HELM. Dale graduated from Plymouth High School in 1938.

He worked for the Manly State Creamery as a bookkeeper for 19 years and then worked as a custodian for the North Central School District at the Plymouth elementary school for 24 years, retiring in 1986.

Dale served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a staff sergeant from 1941-45.

Dale was a member of the Plymouth United Methodist Church. Dale married Ethel I. TREBIL on July 30, 1943, at the Plymouth United Methodist parsonage.

Dale is survived by two sons, Ricki M. HELM and his wife, Judy, of Little Rock, Ark., and LeAlan D. HELM and his wife, Becky, Aurora, Colo.; a daughter, Darla D. ROSENBERG and her husband, Jim, Clear Lake; five grandchildren, Erica and Corey HELM, Abbe and Adam HELM and Tyler ROSENBERG; a brother, Ellsworth HELM, Popejoy; a sister, Buena GOULD, Mason City; three sisters-in-law, Laura HELM, Plymouth, Geraldine TREBIL, Mason City, and Wilma TREBIL, Manly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ethel, in 1995; and his brother, Laurel, in 1997.
