Rites pending for Edith Birch, 80

Mrs. Sydney (sic, should be Sidney) (Edith Ann) BIRCH, 80, 722 15th Place NE, died Tuesday evening at a Mason City hospital. She had lived here 79 years. She was born Aug. 29, 1887, at Rock Falls to John and Sarah (REDDINGTON) LESTER.

She attended Mason City schools and was married to Sydney (sic) BIRCH in Wisconsin in 1909. She was a member of Grace Evangelical United Brethren Church and a past member of the Queen Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include two sons, Cecil BIRCH, California, and Dale BIRCH, Mason City; four daughters, Mrs. LeRoy (Flossie) LORENTZEN, Mason City; Mrs. William (Annette) HADDY, Mason City; Mrs. Loras (Phyllis) McDERMOTT, Waterloo; and Mrs. Roy (Betty) WHITE, California; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Frank LESTER, Minnesota; Claude LESTER, Colorado, and Orie LESTER, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1935, three sisters, one brother, one grandchild and one great-granchild.

Visitation will be at the Hogan-McKee Chapel after 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of service. Burial will be in the Plymouth [Oakwood] Cemetery, Plymouth. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Service to be held on Friday for Edith Birch

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Grace Evangelical United Brethren Church, with the Rev. H. A. STENBERG, pastor, officiating, for Mrs. Sydney (Edith Ann) BIRTH, 80, 722 15th Place NE, who died Tuesday at a Mason City hospital

The organist will be Mrs. George GOODER, and the soloist will be Marilyn BOHNSACK. Pallbearers will be Nels KITTLESON, Gary BIRTH, James TULL, Frank WHITE, Loras McDERMOTT and LeRoy LORENTZEN.

Visitation will be at the Hogan-McKee Chapel until 8:30 a.m. Friday and at the church after 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Plymouth [Oakwood] cemetery.
