William Michael "Mike" Chambers

William Michael CHAMBERS, 77, died Wednesday (April 29, 2009) in Los Angeles, Calif., due to complications of Parkinson's disease. He was born Feb. 27, 1932, in Norfolk, Neb., and grew up in Chariton.

Mike, as he was known to his friends, was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Mary RYAN CHAMBERS; parents, Leslie and Ella CHAMBERS; and by two infant sons, Paul Ryan CHAMBERS and Mark Ryan CHAMBERS.

He is survived by three children, Ann (Jeff) BRUNNER, Thomas (Jessica) CHAMBERS and David (Jill) CHAMBERS; and eight grandchildren, Sarah and Katie BRUNNER, Isabelle CHAMBERS, Nicholas PUTNAM, Cameron, Nathan, Lily and Bradley CHAMBERS; a sister, Jane OPENSHAW; and his sister-in-law, Sarann RYAN SLATTERY (Leo). Mike is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

Burial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9, in Mason City [Elmwood-St. Joseph's Cemetery].
