Wayne C. BROWN, 86, of Mason City, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the Good Shepherd Health Center. A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Friday (April 13, 2012) at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 North Adams, with Rev. Michael SCHUELLER officiating.
Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday (April 12, 2012) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. with a Knight's of Columbus Rosary Service at 6:30 P.M. Interment will be held in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Family Catholic Church in Wayne's name. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com
Wayne C. BROWN was born August 5, 1925 in Mason City, Iowa the son of John G. and Verna R. (CURTIS) BROWN. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1944. He was married to Beverly McKEE on August 31, 1946 in Mason City to this union, one daughter, Judy was born. Wayne and Beverly were lifetime Mason City residents, through the years he worked for Decker's for 16 years, then Lane Brothers. He was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed driving the countryside looking at the scenery and looking for cans. Wayne also liked watching the Minnesota Vikings, dogs, playing cards and riding his 3-wheel bicycle around town.
Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy HAVIG and husband Jim of Mason City; grandchildren, Nick JOHNSON and wife Erin of Kansas City, MO and Amber CARLSON and husband Justin of Britt, IA; great-grandchildren, Avery JOHNSON and Austin and Karter CARLSON.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly on April 3, 2012; brothers, John BROWN Jr. and E. Warren BROWN.
