Merton F. BOYDEN, son of Luther O. and Nancy D. BOYDEN, was born April 13, 1873, in Willet, N.Y.
Mr. BOYDEN moved from Marathon, N.Y., to Mason City, Ia., in April, 1890.
On April 17, 1895, he was married to Mary A. STRICKLAND in Mason City. The couple moved to Mitchell, S.D., in 1906, and to Rapid City in 1928, returning to Mitchell in 1942. Mr. BOYDEN retired in 1951 after more than 50 years with the Milwaukee Railroad.
Mr. BOYDEN died in a Yankton hospital Nov. 19, 1960. Survivors include a son, Dr. C. H. BOYDEN, Mitchell and a daughter, Mrs. Morris WRIGHT, Wolf Point, Mont., eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
His wife and one son preceded him in death.
Graveside rites for Mr. Boyden were conducted at Elmwood Cemetery in Mason City, Ia., on Nov. 22, 1960, with the Rev. George ADKINS of the First Christian Church in Mason City, Ia., officiating.

Monday, November 21, 1960IOWA SERVICES SCHEDULED FOR MERTON BOYDEN
Funeral services will be held at Mason City, Ia., Tuesday for Merton BOYDEN, 87, of Mitchell, retired railroad man who died at a Yankton hospital Saturday evening.
Mr. BOYDEN is survived by two children, Dr. Carl BOYDEN of Mitchell and Mrs. Dorothy WRIGHT of Wolf Point, Mont.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Broadbent-Milliken Funeral Home.
