MASON CITY - Funeral services for Emil J. BOHN, 77, of 507 S. Tennessee Place, will be at 1p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City. Mr. Bohn died Friday (July 4, 1986) at a Mason City nursing home.
The Rev. Delmar L. JACOBSON, pastor, and the Rev. Murley A. SEVERTSON, visiting pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
The family has requested that any memorials be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, KCMR radio or the Parkinson's Clinic of Methodist Hospital at St. Louis Park, Minn.
Visitation will be at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 209 2nd St. NE, from 1:30 this afternoon until 11:30 a.m. Monday.
Mr. BOHN, [born September 3, 1908] the son of William and Emma (BOEHNKE) BOHN, was a 1926 graduate of Ventura High School and graduated from Hamilton Business College in Mason City in 1928.
He maried Irma A. KOLDA in October 1937 at Garner.
Mr Bohn was employed at the Mason City Warehouse Corp. as assistant manager in 1930 and in 1934 he organized Carroll Sales Co. and became treasurer and general manager. In 1958, he purchased the Carroll Sales and Mason City Warehouse and was manager and owner of both until October of 1976 when he retired.
Survivors include his wife, Irma; two daughters, Mrs. Edward H. (Judy) McCALL, Shoreline, Minn., and Mrs. Michael (Mary) JOEHLJE, Ames, and five grandchildern.
Mr. BOHN was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was a past member of the board of trustees; a past director of the Mason City Chamber of Commerce and Community Chest; served on the board of directors of the Public Health Nursing Association; was active in the North Iowa Band Festival; a past president of the Feed Distributors of Iowa and a past member of the board of adjustment and review.
He was a member of the Mason City Rotary Club since 1942, a lilfetime member of the Elks Lodge; a member of the senior Chamber of Commerce and a former director of True Pitch of Altoona.
