MASON CITY — Leonard BOGGESS, 88, of 302 2nd St. N.E., died Friday (Oct. 1, 2004) at the Muse Norris Hospice In-patient Unit.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Jim STILES of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Leonard BOGGESS Memorial Fund.

Leonard was born May 14, 1916, in rural New Hampton, the son of Calvin and Mabel (FRAZEE) BOGGESS. He attended schools in Chickasaw County.

Leonard farmed around the Charles City area for 20 years. He also worked in the maintenance department for the city of Charles City, retiring in 1981. Leonard moved to Mason City in 1991.

Leonard is survived by his son, Mark BOGGESS of Mason City; three step-sons, Rodney, James and Raymond; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Grace GRIFFEN of Mason City, Gertrude HAUSER of New Hampton, and Maebelle STELZER of Charles City; a brother, Harley BOGGESS and wife, Daisy, of Charles City; special niece, Dorothy VANDENBETTER, and special friend, Jennie BOGGESS of Mason City.

Leonard's parents; brothers Elmer, Jack, Melvin, Vern, Lawrence and Wendell; sisters Lillian SCHMITT and Clarinda THOE, and one step-grandchild preceded him in death.
