February 06, 2004Jeffrey Donald BAUMANN, 19, of Mason City stationed at the Minot Air Force Base, Minot, North Dakota died Thursday, February 5, 2004 in Minot, North Dakota. A military graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, February 16, 2004 at Elmwood Cemetery. Full military services will be conducted by the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard of Omaha, Nebraska.
Memorials may be directed to the family. Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue.
Jeffrey Donald BAUMANN was born on March 20, 1984 the son of Kenneth D. BAUMANN Sr. and LouAnn M. (DAHL) SWENSON at the Olmsted Community Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Jeff had had always dreamt about being in the military and his dream finally came true. Immediately following his 2002 graduation from Mason City High School Jeff enlisted in the United States Air Force. He graduated top of his class and became an Airman First Class and Specialist with the E.O.D. (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) Squadron at the Air Force base in Minot, North Dakota.
Jeff excelled with high honors in the elite E.O.D. Squadron as a Technician. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, and especially his brother Kenny. Jeff was a member of Faith Baptist Church and active in its youth programs, as well as many school activities and sporting events, lettering in football, track and wrestling.
Jeff is survived by his father, Kenneth D. BAUMANN, Sr. of Mason City; mother, LouAnn (DAHL) SWENSON of Blue Earth, Minnesota; brothers, Kenneth D. BAUMANN, Jr. of Mason City; Jeremy, Jared, and Justin of Minnesota; grandparents, Dean and Doris BAUMANN of Mason City and Leonard and Pat HISSAM of Rochester, Minnesota. As well as many other relatives and friends.
