MASON CITY - Mrs. Chauncey R. (Ada Adelia) BARLOW, 84, of 201 Second St. N.E., died Saturday (April 7, 1990) at Good Shephard Home, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tueday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 209 Second St. N.E., Mason City with the Rev. Herbert G. SHAFER of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

The family requests memorials be given to Grace United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. today until time of service at the funeral home.

She was born June 8, 1905 in Revere, Minn., to Oliver and Martha (MALISSE) BOWDER.

She was married to Ed PEARSON April 6, 1923 in Peoria, Ill. at a double wedding where her identical twin married Lawrence PEARSON; twins married to brothers. They came to Mason City in 1925. Both families became members of St. James Lutheran Church. She started working in the Lyons Laundry in August of 1925 and was there for 15 years until she went t o the Ideal Laundry where she worked until the end of World War II.

Mr. PEARSON preceded her in death in 1953. She then married Chauncey R. BARLOW April 14, 1956 in Cedar Rapids. He preceded her in death in May of 1984.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, member and active in the V.F.W. where she had served as president of the WOmens' Auxiliary.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Patricia STEVENS, Redondo Beach, Calif.; two sons, Russell BARLOW, Ankeny, Fred BARLOW, Mason City; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Grace JOHNSON, Jacksonville, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, 11 brothers and sisters, including her identical twin, Addie A. PEARSON in 1984.
