Funeral services for Ivan Guy DAVIS, 72, who died Thursday [July 7, 1955] at a Rockwell nursing home, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Paterson-James Mason City Chapel. The Rev. O. W. IHNEN, pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Rockwell, will officiate.
Mr. DAVIS was a retired Milwaukee Road conductor and had lived in the community about 34 years. He was born July 2, 1883, near Zearing, son of Samuel and Sarah DAVIS.
Surviving are two sons, Ivan D. DAVIS, Waterloo, and Dr. Lyle L. DAVIS, Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Stephen B. (Beatrice) SMITH, Benton, ILL; nine grand-children and two great grandchildren.
A brother, Arthur DAVIS, Moiese, Mont., and three sisters, Mrs. Noble NIELSEN, Clinton, Edith MOON, Rapidan, Minn., and Mrs. John SOHAACK, Sacramento, Calif., and a sister-in-law, Mrs. William YOUNG, Zearing, also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah, Nov. 21, 1944, and by a daughter, three brothers and a sister.
Burial will be at the Rockwell Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from Saturday evening until the time of services.
NOTE: Ivan Guy DAVIS was born at Zearing, Iowa, on July 2, 1883.
