RITES HELD FOR C. CARL BITKER
Eight Children and Wife Survive Him; Burial Made Here.

CLEAR LAKE, March 26 - Funeral services were held for Christian Carl Godfrey Bitker Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church preceded by short services at the home on Clara street. The Rev. J. R. Tumbleson officiated. Burial was made at the Clear Lake cemetery.

C. C. Bitker was born in Kiel, Germany, Jan. 28, 1955. He was married at Eckernförde, Germany, to Margaret M. Hintz on March 29, 1880. He came to America in 1887 and settled in Sabula, Iowa, where he lived for 13 years. He moved to a farm in Cerro Gordo county and resided there until 1912 when he moved to his present home on Clara street.

To this union were born 10 children, two of which preceded him in death. Besides his wife he leaves four daughters, Mrs. Lena Nagel, Mrs. Emma Grossman, Sabula; Mrs. Mary Hanna, Clear Lake, and Mrs. Rose Lund, Savanna, Ill., and four sons, Chris H, Ada, Minn; Emil, Lucan, Minn; August and John, Clear Lake, and an adopted grandchild, Elizabeth. He also had 40 other grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. All of the children were present for the funeral.

Death date: March 23, 1930

Additional note: surname before arriving in the U.S. was Böttcher
