Tuesday, July 19, 2011Dale Wayne RADCLIFF, 81, of Mason City, died, Monday, July 11, 2011, at Good Shepherd Health Center.
Memorial services will be held 10:30AM on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Dan GERRIETTS officiating. Inurnment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. A gathering of friends and family will be from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, (July 12, 2011) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dale RADCLIFF Memorial Fund in care of the family.
Dale was born November 13, 1929, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Wayne D. and Arlene H. (JIRSA) RADCLIFF. He graduated from Mason City High school in 1948.
Dale served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 - 1952 during the Korean Conflict.
On April 17, 1954, he married the love of his life, Iona JOHNSON, in Sioux Falls, SD.
Over the years, Dale worked as an electrician for Ted Kehm Electric, C.J. Smith Electric, and Determan Electric before retiring in 1991.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, IBEW, and the VFW Lodge 288. Dale enjoyed gardening, bridge club & playing cards, and indulging in his favorite foods - candy, ice cream, and popcorn. Dale loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. Family was very important to him.
He was the perfect husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
Dale is survived by his wife of 57 years: Iona RADCLIFF of Mason City; two sons: Terry RADCLIFF and friend Sally ROBERTS of Mason City, and Michael RADCLIFF and wife Judy of Golden Valley, MN; daughter-in-law Linda RADCLIFF; six grandchildren: Brian RADCLIFF and wife Shelly of Mason City, Brent RADCLIFF of Mason City, Tami ANDERSON and husband Joseph of Mason City, Emily CRANSTON and husband William of Buffalo, MN, Nicholas RADCLIFF of Buffalo, MN, Joshua RADCLIFF and fiancée Lindsey O'BRIEN of Crystal, MN; eight great-grandchildren: Samantha RADCLIFF, Scott Radcliff, Ian ANDERSON, Morgan MARSHALL, Billy CRANSTON IV, Carley CRANSTON, Hayley RADCLIFF, and Sophia RADCLIFF ; one brother: Cecil RADCLIFF and wife Arleen of Clear Lake, IA; two brothers-in-law: Gailerd ERICKSON of Mason City, and Raymond JOHNSON of Orono, MN; two sisters-in-law: Loretta RADCLIFF of Minneapolis, MN, and Michiko RADCLIFF of Bloomington, MN.
He is also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Harold, Rodney, Kenneth, and William RADCLIFF; one sister: Jean ERICKSON.
Major Erickson Funeral Home of Mason City was in charge of arrangements.
