Sylvia Everts, age 101, formerly of Oak Park, Clear Lake, Iowa, died Thursday, February 1, 1990 at the Beverly Manor Care Center, Iowa City, Iowa of natural causes. A funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 5 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Clear Lake, Iowa with the Rev. Edward Shields officiating. burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa. The Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, in Clear Lake, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.

Sylvia was born November 16, 1888 in Potosi, Wisconsin, the daughter of Anthony and Mary Ann Zeller. She married LeRoy Lionell "Roy" Everts on November 26, 1924 in Mason City, Iowa. Roy died December 20, 1981. She grew up in the Rockwell, Iowa area and taught elementary school in Hampton for six years. She worked at Damon's Department Store in Mason City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her daughter, Mary Lou Conner in 1974.

Sylvia is survived by one son-in-law, John W. Conner of Iowa City, Iowa and one grandson, Michael Conner.
