RESIDENT HERE 42 YEARS DIES
STROKE IS FATAL TO MRS. N. S. HIGGINS; FUNERAL TO BE SATURDAYMrs. Nettie F. Higgins, 65, who lived at 216 Third street northeast, died at 1’clock Thursday afternoon. She had been ill the past two weeks and suffered a stroke of apoplexy. She had been a resident of Mason City since 1887.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Randall Funeral Parlors. The Rev. C. Burnett Whitehead, pastor of St. John’s Episcopal Church, will be in charge. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. Relatives request that there be no flowers.
Mrs. Higgins was born January 12, 1864, at Rockford, Ill., and resided there until coming to Mason City. She was married on June 26, 1883, to Charles B. Higgins.
Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Dr. b. C. Higgins at home, and Fay M Higgins, Mitchell, S. Dak., and a daughter, Miss Marie Higgins at home. Mrs. Higgins was a member of the Episcopal church.
