February, 2001Norman L. TRESLAN, 66, of Algona, Iowa, formerly of Clear Lake, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa.
A private memorial service was held at Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, Mason City, with the Rev. Gene TINDALL officiating. According to his wishes, Mr. TRESLAN'S body has been cremated. Memorials may be directed to the Mercy Cancer Center, c/o the Norman TRESLAN Memorial Fund, 1000 4th Street SW, Mason City.
Norman was born July 24, 1934 in Mason City, the son of Edwin and Mabel (CONIBEAR) TRESLAN. He attended Fertile Schools and at the age of eighteen, began his lifelong work as a self-employed carpenter and cabinetmaker.
Norman was united in marriage to Darlene ANDERSON of December 25, 1954 in Forest City, Iowa. The couple lived in Clear Lake for 45 years, only recently moving to Algona to be near their daughter. Norman had many interests including woodworking, metal detection, riding his motorcycle, journaling, welding and metal work, painting, philosophy, and taking trips to Menards.
Norman is survived by his wife, Darlene, of Algona; one daughter, Colleen BILYEU and her husband, Rick, of Algona; one son, Gary TRESLAN and his wife, Brenda, of Gardner, Maine; five grandchildren, Dave PAPACH, and Shane, Adam, Sarah, and Kaylee TRESLAN; one great-grandchild, and numerous cousins.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents and his special pet, his cat, Mr. Wiggins.
