Obituary - Bernadette M. (Kupka) Van Gampleare
December 14, 1930 ~ October 11, 2010Mason City- Bernadette Van GAMPLEARE 79, of 3325 Brandywine Rd., died Monday, October 11, 2010, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 713 North Adams, with Reverend Michael SCHUELLER officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a scriptural wake at 6:30 p.m. at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street N.E. Mason City.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Bernadette Van GAMPLEARE Memorial.
Bernadette KUPKA was born December 14, 1930, in Tama, IA, the daughter of Otto and Clara (VOJTECH) KUPKA. She graduated from Tama High School. On May 31, 1952, she was united in marriage to Delbert Van GAMPLEARE at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Belle Plaine, IA; to this union three children were born. Bernadette worked as a server at the Holiday Inn and Chart House Restaurants. She later worked several years and retired from North Iowa Medical Center as a dietary technician.
Bernadette enjoyed cross stitching, bird watching, cross word puzzles and cryptoquotes. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed attending family reunions. She enjoyed spending time and keeping up with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bernadette was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Bernadette is survived by her children, Deborah (Thomas) SHEEHY, Waukee, Angela (Randy) DETERMAN, Mason City, Mark (Patsy) Van GAMPLEARE, Colorado Springs, CO, grandchildren Shane Van GAMPLEARE, Waukee, Matthew (Mary) DETERMAN, Mason City, Scott (Holly) DETERMAN, Lemont, IL, Michael DETERMAN (Nicole SMITH), Mason City, John "J.D." DETERMAN, Mason City, Jamie Van GAMPLEARE, Omaha, NE, Stephen Van GAMPLEARE, Sam Van GAMPLEARE, David Van GAMPLEARE all of Colorado Springs, CO, great-grandchildren Ellie and Henry DETERMAN, Mason City and Noelle and Jenna DETERMAN, Lemont, IL; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lorraine TRACY, Milan, IL, Albert (Mitzi) Van GAMPLEARE, Cedar Rapids, IA, Gaynelle Van GAMPLEARE, Belle Plaine, IA, Yvonne (Russell) PRICE, Brooklyn, IA; along with numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
Bernadette is preceded in death by her parents, husband Delbert, twin sister Bernadine (Leland) BRADLEY and sister Darlene (Dick) HAYES.
