MESA, Ariz. — Fern Merrie TIGGEMANN died unexpectedly in Mesa, Ariz., on Monday (Jan. 23, 2006). She was born on March 6, 1935, in Algona, Iowa. She graduated from Burt High School and Hamilton Business College in Mason City. Fern then worked at 1st National Bank in Mason City.

She married Richard Clarence TIGGEMANN on Nov. 20, 1955. They made their home in Algona for a short time and then moved to Klemme. Fern helped run the TIGGEMANN Trucking business and feed store, also selling snowmobiles and yard tillers. In 1992, Richard and Fern moved to Mesa, Ariz., Fern worked at Christine Place Apartments in Mesa as a cook and housekeeper for elderly residents. In 1997, she quit working to take care of Richard, who had cancer and passed away in 2001.

Living on to cherish her memory is her daughter, Joan Marie MOSS and husband, Douglas, of Maricopa, Ariz.; sister, Ruth BOLIE and husband, Dave, of Thompson; sister, Joan KOESTLER and husband, Vern, of Burt; sister-in-law, June KRULL of Clear Lake; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Her son, Richard Clarence TIGGEMANN Jr., husband, Richard Clarence TIGGEMANN Sr.; parents, Fim and Edna KRULL; sister, Leona KRULL; brother, Louis KRULL; mother and father-in-law, William and Martha TIGGEMANN, all have preceded her in death.

There will be a joint graveside memorial service in Klemme at a later date for Fern and her husband Richard.
