Obituary - Charles Daniel "Chuck" Davis

Clear Lake- Charles "Chuck" Daniel DAVIS, of 901 South 3rd Street, died Thursday (July 1, 2004) at the Heritage Care Center, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Saturday (July 3rd 2004) at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 North 4th Street, Clear Lake, Iowa, with Lay Assistant Dick SCOTT officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake.

Visitation will be Friday (July 2nd, 2004) from 4-7 P.M at the Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 North 4th Street, Clear Lake.

Family suggest memorials to Hospice.

Charles "Chuck" Daniel DAVIS was born September 18, 1913 the son of George and Clarice (GIFFORD) DAVIS, in Fayette, Iowa. He and his parents moved to Clear Lake in 1919, where he attended Clear Lake School system. He was united in to marriage to Catherine (PORTER) DAVIS on March 3, 1935 in the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa.

Chuck and Clair worked together running vending machines all over North Iowa. He worked at the Clear Lake Bakery as the head of maintenance and mechanic for 35 years, later retiring in 1978.

He enjoyed gardening, his cats, tinkering with things even if not broken, going to coffee with Scott; his greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake.

Chuck is survived by his wife Catherine DAVIS, of Clear Lake, four children, Sandra CESAR, of Clear Lake, Jill and her husband Rick, of San Antonio, Texas, Joni ANDERSON, of Kingman, Arizona, Scott DAVIS and his fiancé Rene HERKER, of Forest City, daughter-in-law Mary Ann DAVIS, of Des Moines, and 8 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in to death by his parents, son Michael DAVIS, 2 infant great-grandchildren, one sister Lenore GEORGE, and two brothers Robert and Clair DAVIS.
